The Pierces

Andy and Julie Pierce are serving with the Kwaio people in the Solomon Islands through Wycliffe Bible Translators in translating books of the New Testament into the Kwaio language.

Andy (birthday April 8) will serve by taking care of the finances for the Solomon Island branch. He will also coordinate the logistics for workshops held for national translators throughout the year.

Julie (birthday May 7) will continue working on the Kwaio translation of the New Testament. She will also help teach at the translation workshops.

"He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for praying for the morning tea that was scheduled for this morning. Unfortunately no Kwaio speakers came. There are many factors that could have contributed. The Wycliffe center here is difficult to find, and there are no street names or addresses in this country to help people. People also tend to be shy and don't respond to things without a personal invitation.

At about 10:15 this morning, I was quite discouraged. However, God reminded me that He is in control. The truth is that God's Word is important, and He will bring it to fruition. It's also true that there are many Kwaio speakers who want to see the Bible in their language. Finally, it's true that there are different methods that would have worked better in this culture. I had a chat with our director and have some ideas of things to try next time as well as some new people to contact. In that sense, the day was successful. Thank you for praying with us and going on this journey alongside us.
